A stunning and delicious treat, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion! These lightly sweet, golden crisp apple roses are best enjoyed warm. Perfect for impressing guests or treating yourself to a special dessert!

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 large Honeycrisp apples
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tbsp Zejd Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • A sprinkle of flour (for rolling)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar or honey (for garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a muffin tin with a bit of Zejd olive oil.
  2. Cut apples in half, remove the core, and slice them thinly. Place them in a bowl with lemon juice and enough water to fully cover them. Microwave for about 2 minutes until the slices are soft enough to bend. Drain the apples and pat them dry with a clean towel.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 6 even strips.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and Zejd olive oil. Brush the mixture evenly onto each pastry strip.
  5. Arrange apple slices along the top edge of each strip, slightly overlapping, with the red skin peeking out. Fold the bottom of the pastry over the apples and gently roll up to form a rose shape. Place each one into the muffin tin.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crisp. Let them cool slightly before removing them from the tin.
  7. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with honey for an extra touch of sweetness.
